Minnesota Weather: Storms Featuring Strong Winds, Hail Sweep Through MN, WI
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- WCCO meteorologist Chris Shaffer says there is more severe weather to the south, coming with heavy rain, strong winds and possible hail. This storm is moving east at 20 miles an hour, Shaffer says.
The next line of severe weather is moving toward the Twin Cities. Expect heavy downpours, gusty winds and possible hail again, Shaffer said. More storms are possible Wednesday.
Hail made its way through Delano, Independence and Watertown. Other areas affected by hail were Maple Grove, Brooklyn Park, Ham Lake, Medina and New Hope.

The first round of storms hit around 1 o'clock Monday afternoon tracking along the Crow River on County 16, stretching between Watertown and southwest of Delano.
"A couple of windows broke the whole back of the house," said Delano homeowner Curt Ritters.
And at River's Edge Golf Course the greens look like Swiss cheese.
"All of a sudden it started coming," explained Brian Baumann of River's Edge Golf Course. "I was talking to the guys in the shop look south it got dark and then it started coming in and started raining."
The threat for storms producing heavy rain and small hail remains in western Wisconsin. Many in Wisconsin are still cleaning up from damaging winds and tornadoes last month, Shaffer said. Monday's storm is currently moving east at 35 to 45 mph.
A line of storms pushed southeast through Minnesota earlier in the day, eventually hitting the Twin Cities by the afternoon.
Meteorologist Matt Brickman said strong winds is one of the biggest threats from the storms, with wind gusts of up to 60 mph expected.
Hail is also a big factor, with towns like Delano and Watertown reporting large hail and hail damage. Hail was also reported in the Twin Cities.
