Minnesota Weather: Severe Storms Roll Across State With Damaging Winds, Isolated Tornadoes

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- For Minnesotans, the weekend has started with some severe storms.
Meteorologist Lisa Meadows says the fast-moving storm started to rumble along the Dakota border around 2 p.m. and moved east across Minnesota Friday into the evening hours.
A line of severe storms has washed over the state and threatened to include damaging winds, heavy rain, hail, flooding, and isolated tornadoes.
Many tornado warnings were issued across the state with some apparent tornadoes being spotted in western Minnesota.
Xcel Energy has reported over 54,000 customers who lost power in the Twin Cities due to the storms.
Meteorologist Riley O'Connor says that the storms will push into Wisconsin in the overnight hours, clearing the way for a pleasant and dry Saturday.
While temperatures will be in the mid-to-upper 80s on Friday afternoon, they'll drop into the low 80s on Saturday and Sunday. That's about average for this time of year.
