Minnesota Weather: Quick-Hitting, Narrow Band Of Snow Visits State

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A quick-hitting and narrow band of snow moved across Minnesota Thursday, dropping up to 3 inches in some areas.

WCCO meteorologist Chris Shaffer says the storm system exited the state by the early afternoon. The skies will clear out overnight, dropping temperatures into the teens. We will melt some snow with Friday's sunshine, with highs in the mid-30s.

Spotty rain showers are possible later on Saturday, with a few flakes possible early Sunday. Temperatures warm above average next week, and we may still warm to the upper 40s or 50s later next week.

Authorities responded to hundreds of crashes and spinouts in the state Thursday, including a 29-vehicle pileup near Monticello Thursday morning, which closed down Interstate 94 for most of the day.
