Spotty showers Friday in Twin Cities ahead of rainy, snowy weekend
A cold front may bring isolated showers to the Twin Cities on Friday and extended cloud cover is expected as the weak front passes by, followed by a brief temperature drop before rebounding into the 40s and 50s by Saturday afternoon.
A rogue flurry or sprinkle is possible Friday night, otherwise plan on a fairly quiet and mild end to the week.
High pressure makes for a wonderful start to the weekend with more sunshine for Saturday. The morning will start chilly, with lows in the 20s before rebounding back into the 40s.
Southerly flow will bring increasing moisture, with light precipitation possible Saturday evening in central and western Minnesota.
Precipitation will intensify early Sunday, bringing a mix of rain and snow to east-central Minnesota. The metro could possibly see an inch or two of accumulation. Gusty winds will also be in play on Sunday.
Highs will remain near normal throughout the week, ranging from the mid-40s to mid-50s.
There is another weak clipper system that will move in on Tuesday, however, northwest flow will keep conditions dry early in the week, with the next widespread precipitation chance arriving near the end of March.
