MINNEAPOLIS — Overcast skies and northwest winds with gusts up to 35 mph will make the Twin Cities feel chilly on Thursday.

Highs will reach into the upper 30s but it'll feel like the upper 20s. Expect a mostly cloudy sky again on Friday with similar, seasonal temps, but the winds will relax a bit more.

High pressure will continue to work in over the weekend, keeping things quiet despite a mostly cloudy sky.

A weak disturbance will pass on Sunday night, but any spotty snow showers look to stay out of the metro across northern Minnesota.

Northwest winds pick back up on Monday, driving in another shot of cold air that will move highs from near 40 on Sunday to near 30 for Monday through Wednesday.

The next shot for a few flakes around the metro will be on Tuesday evening, but it won't be anything significant.

We've seen widespread drought improvement given Monday's soaking storm.

Severe drought has been erased from southern and western Minnesota but still lingers north.

Severe drought coverage has dropped to 16% versus last week's 45%.

Moderate drought still covers about 65% of the state, down from 79%.
