Arctic chill holds steady Thursday in Twin Cities, with weekend warmup ahead
MINNEAPOLIS — The Twin Cities are still dealing with dangerously cold wind chills on Thursday.
Highs will only reach into the upper teens, and despite the increase in sunshine, it will still feel like the single digits in the metro.
Expect more sunshine on Friday, and light, shifting winds will start the next warm-up, with temperatures reaching the upper 20s.
Two glancing clippers could throw flurries across the Arrowhead on Friday and Saturday mornings, but it won't be a factor for the metro.
A bit of a stronger system will slide across northern Minnesota on Sunday into Monday, bringing rain and snow showers, mainly north of Brainerd Lakes. The metro may see some precipitation as well.
In the metro, temps will climb into the low 40s on Saturday and Sunday.
More clouds and wind will move in Monday as temperatures swing the other way, with highs back in the 20s for Tuesday and Wednesday.
