Minnesota Vikings Team Up For We Day Minnesota
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings announced Wednesday that they are teaming up with the nonprofit group, "Free The Children," to support We Day.
WCCO is proud to be the media partner for the first-ever We Day Minnesota.
It's an all-day celebration that features star speakers, big-name musical performances such as Jennifer Hudson, and motivational speakers who inspire children to be the change in their world.
We Day is coming to the Xcel Energy Center in October.
It will feature the Vikings along with the Jonas Brothers, former President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev, and others soon to be revealed.
Minnesota schools and youth groups have until May 31 to sign up with Free the Children to commit to doing one local and one global act throughout the year.
About 18,000 kids can earn a ticket to We Day through their good work -- and they have to earn it because you can't buy a ticket to We Day.
