Twins Face White Sox In Home Opener
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins are betting that home field advantage will make a difference in their young season.
The Twins open at home Monday against the Chicago White Sox at Target Field. The Twins are off to their worst start ever with a 0-6 record. Last season Minnesota went 13-and-6 against the White Sox.
The ceremonial first pitch will come from Rod Carew, former Twins first baseman and Hall of Famer. The first game of the three-game series starts at 3:10 p.m. after a flyover by a pair of F-16s from the 148th Fighter Wing of the Minnesota National Guard.
The Twins send righthander Kyle Gibson to the mound for the home opener. Lefthander Jose Quintana pitches for the White Sox.
