Report: 2 Sisters In Seychelles Died Of Water In Lungs
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A pair of sisters found dead in the Seychelles last week were found to have excess water in their lungs and brain, according to international reports.
Thirty-eight-year-old Annie Korkki and 42-year-old Robin Korkki were found dead in bed in a villa they were sharing at the Maia Luxury Resort and Spa.
The two Eden Prairie natives were on vacation in Seychelles, an island off of Africa's east coast, just days before their deaths.
On Friday, the Seychelles News Agency reported that Robin Korkki died of acute pulmonary edema, and Annie Korkki died of acute pulmonary and cerebral edema. Their autopsies were performed by a forensic pathologist from Mauritius, the agency reported.
Hotel staff reportedly saw the two sisters drinking during the day on Sept. 22 and said they needed help to find their villa that night. The next morning, hotel staff found the sisters unresponsive in their beds.]
Chris Korkki said his sisters were outgoing, generous, kind, and "lived life to the fullest."
