School closings, snow emergencies reported in Minnesota amid snowstorm
MINNEAPOLIS — Dozens of Minnesota and Wisconsin schools are reporting closings and delays on Thursday amid the biggest snowstorm yet this season.
Some of the more notable closings include: Boyceville Community School District, Brainerd Public Schools, Colfax School District, Dassel-Cokato Public Schools, Durand-Arkansaw School District, Fergus Falls Schools, Glencoe - Silver Lake School District, Glenwood City Schools, Hudson School District (Wisconsin), Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Public Schools, Menomonie Schools, Pelican Rapids Schools, Pepin Area Schools, River Falls School District (Wisconsin), Saint Peter Public Schools, Sibley East Schools, Stillwater Area Public Schools and Upsala Area Schools.
Multiple school districts have also canceled activities after school, including Minneapolis and St. Paul public schools.

Winter storm warning
Here are the areas that will be most impacted by the winter storm warning:
The winter storm warning for these cities is in effect until 6 p.m. on Thursday: Ashby, Erdahl, Lisbon, Wahpeton, Valley City, Fargo, Enderlin, Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, Elbow Lake, Lawndale, Hoffman, Fergus Falls, Barrett, McLeod, Herman, Shoreham and Breckenridge.
The winter storm warning for these cities is in effect until 12 a.m. on Friday: St Cloud, Center City, Cambridge, Shakopee, Long Prairie, Minneapolis, Princeton, Alexandria, Chaska, Sauk Rapids, Elk River, Monticello, Chanhassen, Hastings, Stillwater, St Paul, Blaine, Mora, Little Falls, and Victoria.
The WCCO NEXT Weather Team says the Twin Cities could see 3-6 inches of snow by Thursday afternoon.
Wind gusts could get up to 40 mph and will blow snow around long after it stops falling.
Snow Emergencies
There aren't a lot of snow emergencies declared as of early Thursday afternoon, but there have been a few, including in the Twin Cities:

In Minneapolis, stay off snow emergency routes until 8 a.m. Friday. From then on, you can park on side streets with odd-numbered addresses. For Saturday, have your car on the even side before 8 a.m.
In St. Paul, stay off night plow routes until 8 a.m. Friday. From then on, avoid day plow routes until 8 p.m.
