Minnesota Powers Past Wisconsin 3-2
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Minnesota scored three times on the power play to beat Wisconsin 3-2 on Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
The second-ranked Golden Gophers (20-5-4, 12-5-4) were 3-for-4 with a man advantage. They came into the game scoring at a WCHA-best 25 percent on the power play.
Sam Warning, Nick Bjugstad and Seth Ambrosz had goal for the Gophers, who moved into a second-place tie with idle North Dakota. Both are three points behind St. Cloud State.
Adam Wilcox made 28 saves for Minnesota.
Nic Kerdiles' goal at 14:32 of the first period gave the Badgers (12-10-7, 9-7-7) a 1-0 lead early. But Minnesota answered with a single goal in each period.
Wisconsin's Tyler Barnes had a goal with 1:02 to play.
Wisconsin goalie Joel Rumpel had 40 saves.
