Minnesota Man's 6-Hour Commute Video Goes Viral
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Many in the Twin Cities are used to work commutes of a half-hour, an hour, or perhaps even a little bit more. But how about a six-hour commute?
Ian Bearce, of Maple Grove, shot a time-lapse video of his entire commute to the office, which is located in Manhattan.
Every Monday, Bearce hops a flight to New York City and returns to Minnesota on Friday. He has been doing it for four years now.
He said he spends about $13,000 on plane tickets a year.
The video's since gone viral after it aired on CBS News last night.
According to a survey by the U.S. Department of Transportation, there are over 3 million "stretch commuters" in the United States. Those are people who work more than 50 miles, one-way, from their job.
