Minnesota Man Dies At Site Of New Ohio Pipeline
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (AP) -- Authorities say a 31-year-old worker from northern Minnesota died after an accident at a gas pipeline construction site in far eastern Ohio.
Investigators from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department say the man was driving a pipe loader on a hill Thursday and tried to jump from it when he thought it was sliding into a ditch. Chief Deputy John Parker tells the Steubenville Herald-Star that the worker's foot got caught in the vehicle's track, and the man fell backward and suffered a head injury.
Investigators say the worker was from Shevlin, Minn
WTOV-TV reports the company installing the pipeline didn't immediately respond to a message left after the accident in Island Creek Township.
