Minnesota Man Charged With Stabbing Roommate
STEWARTVILLE, Minn. (AP) — A Stewartville man faces attempted murder charges for allegedly trying to kill his roommate.
The Rochester Post-Bulletin reports deputies discovered 25-year-old Joseph Michael Dahl sitting on a window sill in his apartment building Tuesday. He was yelling and cutting himself with a knife.
Officers entered the apartment and shot Dahl with bean bags and a Taser. They found another man in a bedroom who had been stabbed in the thigh and both lungs.
Dahl allegedly told investigators he and the man live together and had gotten into an argument over Dahl's relationship with the man's daughter. He said he "poked" the man with the knife.
Prosecutors charged him with first- and second-degree attempted murder on Friday. He's due to appear in court Jan. 8.
