Minnesota Landscape Arboretum Aims For World Tree Hugging Record
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Ever felt like actually hugging a tree? Show up to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum on Friday and you could be a part of history.
The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chanhassen wants to break the world record for the largest tree hug. They're hoping more than 700 people will show up Friday from Noon to 1 p.m. to cozy up to its Pillsbury Shade Tree Exhibit.
The current record was set in 2011 by 702 huggers at a forest in the United Kingdom. The Arboretum is trying to break the record in honor of National Public Gardens Day.
Huggers will get free admission.
