Minnesota Family Forgives Christmas Thieves

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- A Duluth family isn't letting Christmas thieves put a damper on their holidays.

Matt and Cara Wrazidlo left $700 worth of presents in their car to hide them from the kids. When they went to the car Friday and saw the broken windows their hearts sank.

They knew they couldn't replace the gifts, but they had an epiphany. Matt whistled a Christmas tune, hugged his wife and said, "They can't take Christmas away from us."

The thieves hadn't touched the family's groceries, including lemons. So Matt decided to be an optimist and make lemon meringue pie.

They took the kids shopping for a smaller Christmas. But before heading out Cara told the burglars via Facebook: "We still have it all. We have everything we need, and we forgive you."
