Minnesota Duluth Beats Providence 5-2
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Travis Oleksuk had two goals to lead Minnesota Duluth to a 5-2 men's college hockey win over Providence on Friday.
Oleksuk scored in the second and third periods for the Bulldogs (2-3-0), who shook off last weekend's sweep by Minnesota to outshoot the Friars 32-25.
Mike Seidel added a goal and assist and Brady Lamb and Max Tardy had two assists apiece.
UMD had a 23-12 shots-on-goal advantage in the last two periods. Kenny Reiter made 23 saves for the Bulldogs, while Alex Beaudry had 27 stops for Providence (2-1-0).
The Friars got goals from David Brown and Andy Balysky.
