Minnesota Dental Groups Host Free Dental Care
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Dental care is something that many families have a hard time affording, especially those who don't have dental insurance.
That is why thousands of Minnesotans will get the opportunity to get free dental care, regardless of their ability to pay.
This weekend the Minnesota Dental Association and Minnesota Dental Foundation will transform the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato into a massive dental clinic.
Free dental care will be available there on Friday and Saturday from 5:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
About 1,000 patients will be treated each day on a "first come, first served" basis. Children under 18 have to have an adult with them.
Also, you do not need photo identification, social security number or any other personal documentation.
Gov. Mark Dayton has commended the event. According to Dr. Rosalie Perpich, one of the volunteers for the event, it will be the first of many.
