Minnesota, Bemidji St. Skate To 3-3 Tie
BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) -- Brad Hunt's power-play goal with 19 seconds to play in the third period lifted Bemidji State to a 3-3 tie with Minnesota on Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
Hunt scored on a 6-on-4 power play as time was running out. His wrist shot from the point made its way through traffic past Minnesota goalie Kent Patterson, who had 33 saves.
Pat White had two goals for the Golden Gophers (15-12-6, 12-10-5), including one at 16:20 that looked to be the game-winner until Hunt's heroics.
Each team had one shot on goal in overtime.
Nick Bjugstad also had a goal, as the Gophers clinched the fifth seed for the upcoming WCHA playoffs.
The Beavers (12-16-5, 8-14-5) also got goals from Matt Read and Aaron McLeod and 27 saves from Dan Bakala.
Minnesota is 4-0-2 in its last six games.
