Minnesota Beats North Dakota 3-2
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Kyle Rau's rebound goal with 46 seconds left lifted Minnesota to a 3-2 win over North Dakota Saturday and a sweep of their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.
The Golden Gophers (9-1-0, 6-0-0) scored twice in the last 6:04 of the game to remain unbeaten in the WCHA.
North Dakota (3-6-1, 1-5-0) led 2-1 late in the second period after Rocco Grimaldi's first collegiate goal gave the Sioux the lead.
But Nick Larsen tied it with a sliding goal across the crease at 13:56 of the third period and Rau poked in a rebound in the closing seconds.
North Dakota goalie Aaron Dell had 39 saves, but had little chance of stopping Rau's game-winner from a scrum in front of the net.
Kent Patterson had 17 saves for the Gophers.
Nick Bjugstad scored the game's first goal and assisted on the game-winner.
Brock Nelson scored for UND.
