Minnesota Beats Bemidji St. 3-2 In Overtime
BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) -- Nick Bjugstad's second goal of the game just 20 seconds into overtime lifted Minnesota to a 3-2 Western Collegiate Hockey Associated win over Bemidji State on Saturday.
Bjugstad scored on the first shot in overtime, giving the Golden Gophers (16-12-6, 13-10-5) three points on the weekend. The teams tied 3-3 on Friday.
Bjugstad scored his first goal late in the second period. Mike Hoeffel had the Gophers' other goal and goalie Kent Patterson made that stand up with 29 saves.
Bemidji State (12-17-5, 8-15-5) took a 2-0 lead on goals by Jeff Jubinville and Aaron McLeod.
Dan Bakala had 15 saves in the second and third periods and finished with 44.
