MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Jake Hansen and Nick Larson had a goal and assist each to lead Minnesota to a 5-1 win over Alaska-Anchorage on Friday.
Hansen and Larson each scored in the second period as the Golden Gophers (11-9-3, 8-7-2 WCHA) improved to 10-1-1 when scoring three goals or more.
Minnesota goalie Kent Patterson stopped 28 shots by the Seawolves (7-13-3, 6-11-2), who have lost three straight games.
Nate Condon and Tom Serratore scored to give Minnesota a 2-0 lead.
"That's a big help for out top line," Larson said of the early goals. "It takes away the pressure."
Mitch Bruijsten answered for the Seawolves, who trailed 2-1 after one period. It was 4-1 heading into the third period.
"Having a cushion takes a little pressure off but you still need to make the saves," said Patterson, who was making his first start against Alaska-Anchorage.
Aaron Ness added the Gophers' final goal in the third period. It was Ness' first goal of the season.
Alaska-Anchorage goalie Rob Gunderson had 43 saves.
Minnesota outshot the Seawolves 48-29.
