Minneapolis's Century-Old Third Avenue Bridge To Close For 2 Years
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A heads-up for those living and commuting near downtown Minneapolis.
The Third Avenue Bridge -- which connects Central Avenue Southeast with downtown -- is closing next Monday, Jan. 4, for repairs, and it's not scheduled to re-open for two years.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the more-than-100-year-old bridge is deteriorating. Drivers can expect a much smoother and improved bridge when it reopens.
