Minneapolis 'Food Truck Fair' Goers Angry Over Waiting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It was meant to be a day full of food and fun, but the inaugural Minneapolis "Food Truck Fair" made quite a few people upset.
About 5,000 tickets were sold to the event. Tickets ranged from $15 to $85, depending on how many samples you wanted. But there were only 14 food trucks, which left people waiting in long lines for food.
Upset people took to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, saying in some cases they had to wait up to 50 minutes to get food. On the event's Facebook page, several people wrote angry posts demanding a refund.
In a statement on Facebook organizers wrote: "As event planners, the first year is always the hardest. No one has ever done a Minnesota Food Truck Fair, so we did not know what to truly expect. We never intended to disappoint anyone."
