Minn., Wis. Still Searching For Missing Pilot
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota and Wisconsin crews plan to search again for a missing pilot in northeastern Minnesota.
The Civil Air Patrol from both states has been searching from the ground and air for 67-year-old Michael Bratlie and his twin-engine Piper. He took off from a South St. Paul airport Friday for a roundtrip flight to the Duluth area. The Civil Air Patrol says there's no evidence Bratlie landed at any of the nearby airports in Duluth, Park Point or Superior, Wis.
Crews planned to go out again on Thursday. They had been concentrating on the Silver Bay area where the last radar contact and cell tower ping placed the pilot.
Bratlie is a seasoned pilot with flight time in the U.S. Navy and with an airline.
