Minn. Weather Service Warns Of River, Land Floods
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The National Weather Service in Minnesota is warning that forecasted heavy rains could cause flash flooding in parts of Minnesota and western Wisconsin, and flooding in some Minnesota rivers.
Forecasters are expecting heavy rain Sunday night into Monday. That comes on top of heavy rainfall in recent days in many parts of both states, leaving the ground saturated and rivers swelling.
Both flash flood watches and river flood warnings are in effect for much of Minnesota. Forecasters say the expected storms also have the potential to spawn tornadoes.
