Minn. Storms Bring Tornado, Golf-Ball Sized Hail
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) -- Thunderstorms damaged barns, blew out power and brought golf-ball sized hail in southern Minnesota.
The National Weather Service reports a tornado touched down in Traverse County during the storms Sunday and early Monday but there was no major damage.
He says straight-line winds brought gusts of around 75 miles an hour in Swift and Meeker counties, causing some damage to farm buildings.
Meeker County Sheriff Jeff Norlin tells KLFD-AM 14 buildings had moderate to severe damage, with about 24 power line poles down. He says a school district's football bleachers were flipped.
No one was reported injured.

Hail the size of golf balls and some 2-inches in diameter were reported in Le Sueur, Rice and Goodhue counties but no major damage was reported.
Officials along the Cannon and Little Cannon Rivers are monitoring levels but they were not expected as high as last week. The Minnesota Department of Transportation said both directions of Highway 20 in Cannon Falls have been closed between Goodhue County Road 29 and Highway 50 because of heavy rains and flooding. Motorists should use alternate routes to reach their destination and also watch for additional flooding on area roads. The roadway will be reopened once water levels recede.
Temporary power outages were also reported in central Minnesota.
