Minn. St., Mankato Ties Minn. Duluth 4-4
MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota State, Mankato scored two goals in a span of 10 seconds in the third period to earn a 4-4 Western Collegiate Hockey Association tie with Minnesota Duluth on Saturday.
Trailing 4-2 with 2:14 to play, the Mavericks (12-20-2, 8-16-2) got a power-play goal from Michael Dorr to close within a goal. Ten seconds later, Eli Zuck scored the equalizer to complete the comeback.
Zach Lehrke scored two goals and Zuck had a goal and an assist for the Mavericks, who lost 4-2 on Friday. Both of Lehrke's goals came on the power play.
Austin Lee had 38 saves, with 17 in the first period and three more in overtime.
Keegan Flaherty had a goal and an assist for Minnesota Duluth (20-7-5, 14-6-4).
Kenny Reiter had 27 saves with six coming in overtime.
The Bulldogs outshot the Mavericks 42-31.
