Minn. St., Mankato Beats RPI 1-0
TROY, N.Y. (AP) -- Cameron Cooper scored the only goal of the game with just over a minute to play to lift Minnesota State, Mankato to a 1-0 win over RPI in college hockey Friday.
Cooper scored on Engineers' goalie Scott Diebold with 1:22 to play. Diebold had faced and stopped 19 previous shots. RPI (0-1-0) outshot the Mavericks (1-0-1) 36-20.
Eriah Hayes assisted on Cooper's goal at 18:38 of the third period.
Both teams blew opportunities on the power play. RPI failed to score on 11 man-advantage chances, while the Mavericks were 0-for-6.
Austin Lee was perfect in nets for MSUM, making 17 of his 36 saves in the third period.
