Minn. Smoke Shop Owner Charged Under Fake Pot Law
MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) -- Police say the owner of a Moorhead smoke shop has been charged under a new state law banning synthetic marijuana.
Lt. Tory Jacobson says 22-year-old Yassin Waleed Wazwaz of Woodbury faces two misdemeanor counts of possessing with intent to distribute and two gross misdemeanor counts of selling fake pot.
The Forum reports police searched Pyromaniacs -- a shop owned by Wazwaz -- on July 13. Officers seized 2,000 bags of "herbal incense" they allege was outlawed under the state ban that took effect July 1.
A telephone message left at Wazwaz's home was not immediately returned Friday. A manager was not expected at the store until late Friday night.
