Minn.'s Bachmann Dispatches GOP Primary Foes
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann is back on a winning track.
The Minnesota congresswoman won a three-way primary on Tuesday to set up a fall matchup with Democratic newcomer Jim Graves, who owns a hotel chain. It was Bachmann's first time facing voters since a short-lived campaign for president fizzled in Iowa in January.
Bachmann topped consultant Aubrey Immelman and small business owner Stephen Thompson.
Bachmann is after a fourth term. The tea party favorite is again bringing in campaign dollars at a rapid clip. But Graves, who faced no primary opposition, has put some of his personal fortune in the race.
The November victor will represent a 6th District that runs north of the Twin Cities to St. Cloud.
