Minn. Rock Camp For Girls Presents Final Showcase
HOPKINS, Minn. (AP) -- Girls will rock the Eisenhower Community Center Theater in Hopkins on Friday.
It's the final showcase of campers attending the Girls Rock n Roll Retreat, otherwise known as GRRR. It's the fifth annual Minnesota rock camp for girls.
Performances are scheduled for 3:30 and 6 p.m. Bands such as Neighborhood Kick, FLAMM and Black Onyx will perform songs they've written during the four days of camp.
Many of the girls performing Friday have never played before the first day of camp.
GRRR is a day camp open to girls ages 9 to 15. They spend five days of lessons on electric guitar, bass, drums or keyboards as well as rehearsals and songwriting.
