Minn. Releases Intragovernment Sexual Harassment Data
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota's state government has a written no-tolerance policy toward sexual harassment that sets standards for identifying unwelcome behavior and guidelines for a management response. Many agencies, including the Department of Public Safety, have their own sexual harassment prevention and misconduct action plans to buttress the state policy.
The Department of Minnesota Management and Budget supplied data from 2011 forward about complaints of sexual harassment lodged within state agencies. Agency-by-agency data was available only from 2014 on, and there were four complaints at Public Safety in that timeframe. But the state doesn't keep centralized figures about which complaints are validated and what actions are taken in response.
The number of complaints by year across state government:
2011: 104
2012: 82
2013: 81
2014: 54
