Minn. Publishing Group Buys 3 Newspaper Divisions
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Minneapolis-based publishing group has purchased three newspaper divisions from American Consolidated Media, including publications in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
According to a news release from the Adams Publishing Group, the company purchased Superior Publishing Group, Ohio Publishing Group and Chesapeake Publishing Group. The purchase includes 34 print publications, special print products, digital media assets and commercial printing facilities.
In Minnesota, their purchase consists of five paid newspapers and three controlled-distribution publications, including the Mesabi Daily News and Hibbing Daily Tribune.
In Wisconsin, the purchase involves six paid newspapers and one controlled-distribution publication, including the Ashland Daily Press and the Sawyer County Record.
According to Adams Publishing Group, other publications involved are in Ohio and Maryland.
Chris Knight is the president and publisher of the Minnesota and Wisconsin regions.
