Minn. Pilot Dies After Crashing In Canadian Lake
SUNFISH LAKE, Minn. (AP) -- Canadian authorities say a Minnesota man was killed after crashing his plane in northwestern Ontario.
The Ontario Provincial Police say the man crashed Monday afternoon in Abram Lake in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. The man has not been identified.
Ontario Constable Jodi Peckford says several witnesses notified authorities, who found the plane upside-down and the pilot alive in the water.
A St. Paul Pioneer Press report says the man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Peckford says the man was flying with his dog, which was found alive on shore and apparently unharmed.
Canadian authorities are investigating.
