Minn. Man Dies After Boat Overturns On Wis. Lake
SHELL LAKE, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities in northwestern Wisconsin say a Minnesota man has apparently drowned after he fell overboard without a life jacket.
The Washburn County sheriff's office says it received a call Saturday evening reporting that two people were in Dilly Lake after their boat tipped over.
Before emergency personnel arrived, a husband and wife rescued both people in a pontoon boat.
Deputies say 42-year-old Timothy Francis Anderson of Inver Grove Heights, Minn. was unresponsive. Emergency responders administered CPR and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The sheriff's office says Anderson apparently stood up in the small boat, then slipped and fell overboard. The upheaval caused a female to fall out of the boat, and the vessel capsized. Neither was wearing a life jacket.
