Minn. Man Convicted Of Human Trafficking
OAKLEY, Kan. (AP) — A jury in western Kansas has convicted a 27-year-old Minnesota man on charges related to human trafficking.
Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt's office says in a release that a Logan County jury on Thursday convicted Preston Sanders, of St. Paul, Minn., of transporting a person under 18 knowing that person would be used for sex. He also was found guilty of transporting an open container of alcohol, furnishing alcohol to a minor and driving on a suspended license.
Schmidt's office says Sanders was arrested after a traffic stop on Interstate 70 and an investigation that involved the Logan County Sheriff's Office, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 5.
