Minn. Man, 18, Accused Of Sex Assault At Air Force Base In Japan
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An 18-year-old White Bear Lake man is accused of sexually assaulting a minor at an Air Force base in Okinawa, Japan, the Minneapolis FBI announced Monday.
Ricky Isiah Sherwood, an employee at Kadena Air Force Base and a dependent of a military member, faces charges of sexual abuse, production of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Sherwood is accused of sexually assaulting a female minor on the base and filming parts of the assault with his cell phone on or about Feb. 11, 2014.
On May 7, Sherwood was arrested at the Air Force base and made an appearance via telephone before Judge Tony Leung in the District of Minnesota. The court ordered Sherwood to be detained and taken back to the United States.
The case is being investigated by the NCIS and the FBI.
