Minn. Girl, 6, Sought Help For Mother Found Dead
AUSTIN, Minn. (AP) -- A 6-year-old girl in southern Minnesota sought help for her mother who was found dead in her apartment.
Police say 36-year-old Marissa Madson of Austin was found dead at Bremerton Apartments last Thursday.
A cause of death has not been determined. No foul play is suspected, and the body had no sign of trauma.
Apartment manager Maria Acosta tells the Austin Daily Herald that Madson's 6-year-old daughter had knocked on neighbors' doors and sought help for her mother the morning of her death.
Eventually a neighbor checked on Madson and called 911. Police Chief Brian Krueger says Madson had been dead only a short time when police arrived.
