Minn. Duluth Beats Minn. St., Mankato 7-3
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Duluth used two scoring outbursts to pull away from Minnesota State, Mankato on Satuday, and notch a 7-3 win over the Mavericks.
The Bulldogs (9-3-2, 7-2-1) scored four goals in a span of 1:36 of the second period to take a 4-0 lead. They added three goals in 4:58 of the third to run their unbeaten streak to 10 games.
Jack Connolly and JT Brown had a goal and assist apiece for UMD, which had 37 shots on goal to 25 by the Mavericks (3-9-0, 2-6-0).
Justin Crandall Caleb Herbert, Brady Lamb and Joe Basaraba aldo had goals for UMD.
UMD's Kenny Reiter had 22 saves for his ninth win of the season.
Max Gaede, Matt Leitner and Eli Zuck had goals for MSUM.
Phil Cook and Austin Lee combined for 30 saves.
The Bulldogs won the series opener 5-2 on Friday.
