Minn. Duluth Beats Michigan Tech 5-3
HOUGHTON, Mich. (AP) — Jack Connolly scored two goals as Minnesota Duluth extended its unbeaten streak to 11 games Friday with a 5-3 Western Collegiate Hockey Association win over Michigan Tech.
Connolly scored short-handed and into an empty net for the Bulldogs (10-3-2, 8-2-1), who have beat the Huskies six straight times. UMD is 9-0-2 since a 5-4 loss to Minnesota on Oct. 15.
Connolly also assisted on a goal by Keegan Flaherty that proved to be the game-winner.
Dan DeLisle and Joe Basaraba added goals for the Bulldogs.
Michigan Tech (8-6-1, 5-5-1) lost for just the second time at home this season despite goals by Milos Gordic, Alex MacLeod and David Johnstone.
UMD's Kenny Reiter made 27 saves and Michigan Tech's Josh Robinson had 30 saves.
