Minn. Democrat Graves Loans Campaign Another $150K
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The Democrat hoping to unseat Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District has loaned his campaign another $150,000.
That's according to a federal campaign filing by hotelier Jim Graves covering his activity through the end of June. Graves, a first-time candidate, previously gave his campaign $100,000.
The personal help closely tracked the amount Graves raised from contributors. His campaign carried about $405,000 in cash into July.
Bachmann is seeking a fourth term. Bachmann is a prodigious fundraiser but she is also dealing with deep debt from her unsuccessful bid for president. She has yet to file a report showing her financial standing through June.
Candidates for federal office face a weekend deadline to file reports detailing fundraising and spending between April and June.
