Minn. Couple Gets Married Underwater At MOA
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minnesota couple took the plunge in a way not many do.
They married underwater, surrounded by sharks.
Except this wasn't in the Caribbean, it was at Mall of America.
Rongini and Steve married at the Sea Life Aquarium.
They told us they learned to scuba dive together, so wanted to do it for their wedding.
But if they traveled out of state, they knew they wouldn't have as many guests.
Their guests did not have to get wet.
About 70 people watched from the dry comfort of the tunnel passing beneath the 500,000 gallon tank.
But they could hear every word, because the bride, groom and officiate wore special communication masks.
They were a little worried about tearing up, because it would make their goggles foggy, and make it harder to read their vows.
But they did just fine.
Congratulations you two!
They plan to do more scuba diving when they travel to India soon to see Rongini's family.
WCCO was told this is the second scuba wedding they've done at Sea Life.
