Minn. Community Leader Faces Child Porn Charges
BRAINERD (WCCO) -- A community leader in northern Minnesota says he's sorry for the damage his addiction to Internet porn has caused.
Steven Augustinack is charged with having nearly 30 child porn videos on his home computer -- along with thousands of other porn videos.
Just last month, The Brainerd Jaycees named Augustinack their "Citizen of the Year."
However, after the charges were filed, he told the Brainerd Dispatch he won't accept the award.
In a statement, Augustinack said he's now in counseling.
"I have been working hard to gain a deeper understanding of what factors led up to my problems. It is amazing what a grip an addiction can place on one's life," he said.
