Mick Jagger Drops Into North Loop Bookstore
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The world's greatest rock 'n' roll band will play at TCF Bank Stadium Wednesday night, but the Rolling Stones have already rolled into town.
When the VIP guest, Mick Jagger, came into James & Mary Laurie Booksellers in the North Loop of Minneapolis, he needed no introduction.
"I was called and somebody said a VIP person was coming over and asked if we would be here," owner James Laurie said. "I've seen the Rolling Stones in concert six to 10 times."
Jagger told Laurie he was looking to buy a few prints as gifts for friends. Laurie showed him around his store.
"He's got a lot of miles on him but he looked really good, really healthy," Laurie said.
They browsed old records and one of a kind prints. After Jagger bought his prints, Laurie couldn't resist asking for a photo with the rock legend.
"My son texted me from Portland and encouraged me to do it," Laurie said. "And he was fine with it."
Before Jagger left, he said he was prepared to perform in the event of rain for fans at TCF.
"The last thing he said when he left is, 'Hope for dry.'"
