Michael Jackson Meets Cirque Du Soleil In Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Michael Jackson was a huge fan of Cirque Du Soleil, so it's a natural fit to combine the late pop star's music with the wild acrobatics of Cirque Du Soleil.
"Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour" makes a stop at the Target Center in Minneapolis Tuesday and Wednesday night. The production combines Jackson's iconic music and choreography with Cirque's unique performance.

"It's nothing like we've seen from Cirque Du Soleil before," said Maxime Charbonneau, publicist for Cirque Du Soleil. "It's not your traditional acrobatic show. There is a lot of choreography, a lot of dancing."
Crews began setting up the set at Target Center at 5 a.m. Tuesday. It takes about 11 hours to set up the show, according to Charbonneau. The production uses 35 semi-trucks, more than 220 full-time workers and more than 60 international dancers, musicians and acrobats.

"If you're a Michael Jackson fan, you'll be thrilled by the production," Charbonneau said. "If you're a Cirque Du Soleil fan, come with an open mind. You might just leave being a Michael Jackson fan."
