Metrodome Roof Handbags To Debut At State Fair
DULUTH, Minn. (WCCO) - A Duluth company has created a new line of handbags and duffel bags, utilizing the roof of the Metrodome which collapsed almost three years ago.
Duluth Pack, makers of back packs and outdoor gear, says the bags are part of the "Domer" line, which incorporates fabric from the Metrodome roof that failed on Dec. 12, 2010 after a severe snow storm.
The bags, based on Duluth Pack's Medium Sportsman Duffel and Deluxe Shell Bag, will debut at the Minnesota State Fair on Aug. 22. The company's booth is in the Dairy Building.
The duffel bag costs $485, and the shell bag is $160.
Ironically, both bags are not allowed in the Metrodome during Vikings games due to a new NFL rule created in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings.
