Metro Transit Says It's Looking For Bus Drivers
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Metro Transit officials said Wednesday they're looking to hear at least 100 bus drivers to add to its workforce.
Officials said it's the result of an expanded demand for transit, and new drivers would start on a part-time basis working either weekdays or weekends. All part-time drivers are guaranteed 30 hours per week and will start at a wage of $17.27 per hour. That also includes benefits of health, dental and life insurance, paid vacation, pension and an unlimited transit pass.
Officials said new part-time drivers can expect full-time opportunities within months.
Metro Transit currently has 1,450 bus drivers and 60 light rail train operators.
