Metro Area UPS Credited With Stopping Theft Ring
APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (WCCO) -- A UPS store in Apple Valley is credited with stopping a huge theft ring in the United States involving stolen credit card numbers.
According to the search warrant, a clerk at the UPS store in Apple Valley was suspicious of two customers.
The customers asked her to package a laptop, credit card reader, thumb drives and more than 60 gift cards.
The store manager called police, and now two men from Ohio are under investigation.
Investigators believe more people across several states are involved. Authorities say the thieves would steal credit card info and load the information onto gift cards.
