Memorial Service Sunday For Minnesota Student
BURNSVILLE, Minn. (AP) — A public memorial service is being planned for a University of Minnesota student who was found dead more than a week after she went missing.
Family members of Anarae Schunk say the memorial will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.
Schunk's body was found Monday in a roadside ditch near Lonsdale. Rosemount police say they believe she died at a townhouse where she went with her ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend after they lift Nina's Grill in Burnsville early Sept. 22.
Schunk's ex-boyfriend, Shavelle Chavez-Nelson, is accused of killing 23-year-old Palagor Obang Jobi of Savage, outside the bar. Police have said Schunk's death is related to that investigation, but is being treated separately.
Charges in her death are not expected for several weeks.
